Tell HN: I Got Out of the Nuthouse This Afternoon
1 point by MichaelCrawford 9 years ago | 0 commentsI went to Emergency because I experienced brain seizures all day last Monday (2015-08-03). Most were very brief lapses of consciousness; my mental experience is quite difficult to describe but was somewhat like falling asleep briefly while driving a car far too many hours.
My whole body twitched three times in ten minutes early that evening. The third twitch was quite violent.
They asked me to admit myself to Vancouver's Telecare psychiatric inpatient hospital because I experiences Somatic Illness for a couple hours after I got to Emergency. I was completely convinced - at first - that I had tachycardia and severe cardiac arhythmia, but an EKG proved that my heart was normal.
"My heart monitor demonstrates that my heart is normal but I am experiencing a heart attack."
"Are you having a heart attack."
"No."
"I am experiencing a heart attack. That's quite a different thing than actually having a heart attack."
She and I went back and forth on this for five minutes then:
"Did you even hear one single word I said?"
Anger is NOT a symptom of mental illness if that anger is appropriate.
Even so, my pointing out that medical and law enforcement professionals commonly slack on the job gets me admitted or even arrested on a damn near continuous basis.

Executive Summary:
I am allergic to Depakote, and intolerant of Topomax, Tegretol and Lithium.
As my options were running out I persisted with Trileptal despite being intolerant of it at first. Taking Metamucil at the same time as I dosed on Trileptal fixed me right up.
Have A Nice Day.
