As a company, Apple is obviously free to do whatever they please with their products.

As a self marketed "privacy" company. What a joke.

I’m all for free markets but tired of that “private company” argument.

Most of humanity’s life essences are “stored” on private company clouds.

It’s 2021, we need new laws for a new world.

1 million percent. Have 0 faith it ever happens when looking at the average age of congress. Of course I doubt they even care

Their products? I thought I bought one. Isn't it mine, now?

Nope, you bought a license to use iOS.

From time to time Apple picks a small idea and aggressively markets it. It usually goes well and hijacks that common concept with marketing. The last time it failed was "COURAGE", but "PRIVACY" is a though thing to sell too.

          Apple has gone full Q.

I think there is at least one truism about people/orgs who all of a sudden decide they want to do something about kiddie porn -- they're either involved in it directly, they want to be, or they're trying to hide/distract from something abominable.

The sudden appearance of unspeakable photos on the phones of completely innocent dissidents will never, ever occur.

              What could possibly go wrong?

The only people who will complain are either pedophiles, or people who value their "privacy" over children ' life

You can downvote but you still choose between one or the other

I guess the issue is this could be used to track any kind of image, from dissidents a government doesn't like and wants to pick up to anything else.

Would you upload your pictures for us, so you can demonstrate how you don't value your "privacy over children", whatever that meant?

Me not uploading my picture doesnt lead to children being abused

I know this is a troll comment, but yes, I value my privacy over the lives of children I don't know.

That was not 100% a troll comment. Barely 0%. I really think apple is doing a good thing
