Ask HN: Is Google personalizing search in private windows/other browsers?

I did some research about gender equality in the workplace.

Now when I type "how many companies" The first recommendation is "how many companies had achieved the maximum score of 100 on the gender equality index by 2021"

Whether I use Firefox, Opera, or private windows I get the SAME recommendation.

But when I use another IP(in a private window) I get something completely different.

Does anybody know if they're actually personalizing stuff based on your IP/fingerprinting?

I mean I always knew that they were mostly aware of you are regardless of cookies, but never thought they'd change stuff based on that data?

That's not the question, I'm aware of that.

I'm not asking what it knows I'm asking what it does.
