Why doesn't my brain turn off?
3 points by vpbusvltsmtk 3 years ago | 6 commentsWhy does my brain refuse to turn off? What purpose is my brain if cannot preform such a basic function as turning off. How is it that my consciousness never seems be repressed. The moment consciousness is programmed to go out from the chemical hormones and biological systems, my consciousness is there to interrupt this. I give up on believing that my conscious thoughts and actions have any effect on whatever unconscious errors that unpredictably malfunction because of what? Genetics, stress, idk. How can I reset this brain and let it do one of its most basic functions that for some reason decides to not work regardless of any activity, hormone, sleep quality, circadian rhythm. I give up and am reporting an issue with my brain or the DNA replication that failed when i was born or something.
- Tabular-Iceberg 3 years agoA large dose of a central nervous system depressant like heroin should do the trick.
The reason why that often ends badly is probably the same reason why we evolved to have always-on brains: self-preservation. I don’t know about you, but I’d gladly take that inconvenience in return for always having open airways.
- guilhas 3 years agoIf it is really bad you might want to go to the doctor for a diagnosis
Otherwise that is one of the things for why people do yoga or meditation. Brain is a muscle and you need to train it to stop or be calm
- afarrell 3 years agoPossibly hypervigilance. Googling for “yoga nidra” and “andrew huberman sleep” should lead you towards parts of solutions.
Note that you’ll want to get into a physical exercise routine. Your brain is made of meat and a part of your body.
