14 points by unosama 2 years ago | 2 commentsI've also compiled a list of many of the alternatives that have been mentioned on HN in the past: -TinyGem -Buku (FOSS) -GGather -Diigo -historio.us -espial (FOSS) -BrainTool -Larder -Are.na -ArchiveBox (FOSS)
If anyone's had a good experience with an alternative please vouch for it as many pinboard users are looking for a new home.

The biggest alternative is raindrop.io?
raindrop.io Global Rank #21,503 Total Visits 2.5M (according to SimilarWeb)
diigo.com Global Rank #61,731 Total Visits 968.5K
pinboard.in Global Rank #130,249 Total Visits 499.7K
historio.us Global Rank #2,700,314 Total Visits 9.2K
Bookmark OS (bookmarkos.com) is another one I tried:
bookmarkos.com Global Rank #323,703 Total Visits 113.7K
Also Instapaper/Pocket should be mentioned as alternatives I think.
- snide 2 years agoI've used buku for years now. It stores everything in a simple db that can be version controlled and exported to json. I sync across multiple machines, but usually only care about bookmarks on my desktops. I search it through FZF and add new items at the command line. It's a very simple, very reliable tool that's faster than anything out there.
