AeroSpace – an i3-like tiling window manager for macOS
6 points by nbobko 1 year ago | 1 comment- piperly 1 year agoI recently discovered AeroSpace through my GitHub feed (fortunately, GitHub fixed the broken feed) and tried it out immediately. As a yabai user for more than 1.5 years and an occasional user of i3, I was really curious if something that new and unknown could work as a daily driver - and it works pretty well! Using AeroSpace for close to a week, I am very happy with the switch. I reactivated SIP and added some shortcuts to skhd to call the aerospace-cli for some exotic keys AeroSpace is not supporting. I really like it being programmed with Swift, and I really look forward to diving into the code myself and helping to improve it. Furthermore, the author is really active and recently added the possibility to specify padding (I really needed the bottom gap for my SketchyBar menu a week ago - and then it suddenly made it into the latest version).
Thank you very much, nikitabibko, for this nice macOS window manager. As much as I appreciate yabai, I feel much better now leaving it behind for several reasons.
