Ask HN: What is your current experience with Nostr
6 points by dekervin 1 year ago | 8 commentsI regularly come back to nostr to check the state of the user experience. And it is invariably slow and randomly working. Maybe it comes with the architecture and design choices. But I would like to hear about your current experience.
- KomoD 1 year agoI tried it back when jack dorsey started hyping it up, and wow it was terrible.
The clients were basic and poorly done, haven't looked at it since then
- dekervin 1 year agoI think coracle.social improved over the past year. It's at a point I kind recommend it to normal tech people. FWIWI

- nusl 1 year agoIt feels icky in a way I can't describe. Its heavily focused on cryptocurrency, touts security but isn't actually what it says, and is kinda filled with people trying to look cooler then the next guy. Bit of a gathering of the bros vibe. I like the concept but not what it is right now.
- zipotm 1 year agoI've chatted with Jack Dorsey... and some early adopters long time ago.
- colesantiago 1 year agoIf it still has bitcoin or anything crypto related, it is a scam.
- beefnugs 1 year agoYeah this is the sad part, it is really a good simple idea, and the diverse developers involved are passionate about working on it... but the slightest attachment to cryptocurrency messes everything up in such dumb ways
- aqfamnzc 1 year agoNot sure if you mean the platform/protocol or the users, but the latter is still very much the case. Which makes sense, I guess, given the sort of person likely to show interest in it.

- Lariscus 1 year agoNever heard about nostr until now and took a look using one popular client called coracle. It seems to be only used by cryptobros; I don't need or want that in my life.
