    Looks like the HTTP 418 is due to the HN referrer header, copy-paste into a new tab worked fine.

            This was an open secret I saw mentioned a number of timed on forums of Hungarian internet in those years (secret services having black boxes plugged in to servers of ISPs). Open range times, before https was common.

                  It only returns that if you click the link in HN. If you open a new tab and paste the URL, it works.
