It's OK to postpone your interviews if you're not ready

    Seems like bad advice. Regardless of the reason given, recruiters and employers will likely interpret a request to postpone as the candidate waiting for another offer.

    I have never heard of “I need more time to prepare” as a reason for postponing, but even if a recruiter or employer believed that it seems weak. If you need to prepare that much for an interview what does that say about your skills and ability to produce right away?

      I've seen hundreds of people do this without ill effect. I know it's counterintuitive, but it works. The times it doesn't work are listed in the post, but it's basically when there's limited headcount.
