Ask HN: Does Microsoft pose a risk for private GitHub repositories?
1 point by mortallywounded 2 months ago | 2 commentsI currently have a product codebase that is privately hosted on my own VPS.
Historically, Microsoft hasn't liked my product. I received a C&D several years ago because Microsoft felt my product violated LinkedIn's terms of service.
For ease of collaboration, I am considering moving the code to GitHub (since everyone has an account).
However, Microsoft owns GitHub. What kind of risk do you think this brings? Would Microsoft try to weaponize my code against me?
