Atrial Fibrillation (AFib): A Guide to Wearable ECG Smart Watches
4 points by teleforce 1 week ago | 2 comments- brandonb 1 week agoI worked on the first study to detect afib with an Apple Watch (plus a deep neural network): https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamacardiology/fullarticle/...
These watches have come a long way, from simple optical heart rate sensors to FDA-cleared ECGs. Apple's afib algorithm was recently cleared by the FDA to validate _other_ algorithms, as one symbol of accuracy.
Atrial fibrillation is believed to cause 1 in 4 strokes, so there's real potential to save lives.
