    These watches have come a long way, from simple optical heart rate sensors to FDA-cleared ECGs. Apple's afib algorithm was recently cleared by the FDA to validate _other_ algorithms, as one symbol of accuracy.

    Atrial fibrillation is believed to cause 1 in 4 strokes, so there's real potential to save lives.
